Date: 5/31/2017

Description:
Microphone selection and placement is an art, and it's the most important skill in capturing sound. This class will show you how microphones work and how to apply that knowledge to those offered at Studio 21C. We'll cover dynamic, condenser, and ribbon types, and we'll demonstrate polar patterns, sensitivity and proper placement. We'll also show you how to read a mic spec sheet, so you can easily understand how any mic you come across might fit into your projects. You'll leave the class with a few simple guidelines to help you pick the best mic for any situation. Additionally we will also provide a short introduction on Studio 21C's isolation booth operation.
