Do you have hands-on materials for Colorado History?

Unfortunately, the Educational Resource Center (ERC) does not have any hands-on materials for Colorado History at this time. That sounds like something we should try to add though, so thank you for bringing it to our attention!

Hello! I would like to check out a few kits from the ERC to use in my classroom. Can I do that?
Thank you,

Hi Miriah, thanks for your question! ERC materials cannot be checked out for use outside of the building. Most items can be checked out for two hours to be used within East Library once the patron has completed an ERC Loan Agreement form.

Hello. I see that you have a link to the ERC loan agreement form for us to fill out, but I do not see access to the ERC policy that is mentioned in the loan agreement. Could you please point me in the right direction? Thank you.

Amber, all you have to do is fill out the ERC Loan Agreement and have a library card in good standing. That phrase is just referring to the "official" title of the actual loan agreement. Just a reminder that kits and equipment loans are for in-library use only and cannot be removed from the building.

I lead a girl scout troop and one of our badges requires using microscopes. Would we be able to borrow microscopes from the ERC or the library?

Jennifer, we do have several microscopes available for use in the ERC, along with a selection of pre-made slides for viewing. We do not lend out this equipment. However, we might be able to make arrangements for you to bring your troop in to utilize the microscopes in the ERC at East Library. If you are interested in doing so, please contact me at

I’d like to come in and use a microscope with my daughter at some point during our unit on Kingdoms and Classifications. Is that something I should reserve a spot for.

April, you are welcome to come any time during open hours to use a microscope. Please ask the staff member in the ERC to get a microscope out for you and help you get set up. We also have a nice selection of prepared slides to view. If you would like a quieter atmosphere to do your study, you are able to reserve the ERC on available Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., or 11 a.m. to noon. Please call the Children's Info desk at 531-6333 ex. 1366 to check availability and reserve your spot. Microscopes can not be checked out to use in study rooms.
