How do I renew an item I have checked-out?
Renewing an item extends its due date. You can renew many items up to two times, as long as no one else is waiting to check it out.
There are three ways to renew your items:
Online
- Click on "My Account"
- Enter your library card number and PIN
- Click on "Checkouts" and view Library Checkouts
- Use the checkbox to select the items you'd like to renew and click "Renew Selected Items"
- You will receive a confirmation if the renewal is successful, or a message if the item(s) could not be renewed
Text Message
If you are signed up to receive text messages from the Library, you can reply to the Reminder Notice text to renew items noted in the text message. Click here for more details.
In Person
Visit any Library and renew your items in person. You will either need the items or your library card to use this method.

renewing digital books
How do you renew digital books? can you? I can select the book, but I don't see any 'renew' button. perhaps the above help needs to be updated so it applies to both physical and electronic checkouts.

renewing digital titles
Renewing digital titles works a little differently than renewing physical books from the library. When you renew a digital title, it doesn't extend your lending period; instead, it lets you borrow the title again immediately after your current checkout expires.
The Renew option becomes available three days before a title is set to expire and appears next to the title on your Checkouts page (under your Account). If the title already has holds, you can't renew it, but you can request it again.
You must sign in to Overdrive through the eLibrary to get to this digital checkout page I'm referring to. It is not the same PPLD account that shows your address and fines along with your checkouts.

Hi there. You can renew a book up to 3 times as long as there isn't a hold on it. If there's a hold on it, you'll need to return it by its due date and place yourself back in line (on hold) for it. Hope this helps!

book can't be renewed
I have a book due tomorrow, the 12th, that cannot be renewed. I get my books via the van--the book mobile. (I love the service--thank you.) Next time it will be here is the 17th. What kind of trouble will I cause by waiting until then to return the book?
