AfterMath Tutors

Assist students of all ages with K-college-level math topics depending upon your skill and comfort level such as: fractions, decimals, percentages, pre- and Algebra 1&2, geometry, Trigonometry, pre-Calculus and Calculus. After-school hours during the school year.

Complete and return an AfterMath volunteer application where you wish to serve.

ESL/High School Equivalency (HSE) Classroom Assistants

Assist an ESL or HSE class instructor once or twice a week (mornings or evenings) in a classroom setting. Must have a willingness to assist instructor and students in classroom activities. Activities may include facilitating a small group, one-on-one assistance, writing on the board, making copies, etc. There is a six-month minimum commitment when assigned to a class. Orientation is required and offered several times a year.

Library Explorers Craft Program Set Up

One or two volunteers are needed to help staff set up and tear down for the Library Explorers craft programs. Volunteers will also assist patrons with completing a craft. Volunteers should have ability to move supplies on a platform truck and in large plastic totes. They will also move around the room and assist patrons with detailed tasks. Should enjoy working with special needs individuals.

Path to Citizenship Faciliators

This group provides an environment to practice and prepare to obtain US citizenship. Materials are provided and follow USCIS developed curriculum. Lesson plans, activities, handouts and general information are all available. This group focuses on practicing the 100 questions individuals need to know, application vocabulary review, and writing. Facilitators do not provide legal advice. Reporting requirements: Facilitators are expected to gather participant attendance and individual registration forms and submit them weekly to the Adult Education division via email. There is a one year minimum commitment for this position. Orientation is required and offered several times a year.
